Hi, Apollo 11 and Life Balance October 20, 2009 |
Volume 72
Hi there to all our loyal and our new members. 102 new members joined in the last month. Welcome to the Time Creation community.
Although we think we would prefer everything to go perfectly straight from beginning to end, our journey to successful life balance seldom turns out that way.
In fact, the "straight" route is completely unnatural. Did you know there are no perfectly straight lines in the universe? Everything is energy. Energy travels in waves. Therefore "straight" doesn't even exist. Yet, when things go a little off course, most people get frustrated, get down, and want to give up.
So why do we get upset when things don't go the way we'd like them to go?
Because we have an "expectation" that is virtually impossible to meet.
The simple truth is that the journey to life balance success is full of twists, turns, ups, downs, stops and reverses. By fully understanding this fact, you now know that, like everyone else on this planet, you will zig zag your way to high effectiveness and life balance!
The beauty of this knowledge is that you won't be deluded into having unrealistic expectations of the magical secret that makes life balance easy. Without these expectations chances are you won't get as upset or even give up, when things aren't going your way, because you know being off track is normal and therefore "perfect".
A good example of what I'm talking about is Apollo 11's mission to the moon. During that extraordinarily successful flight do you know how often the spacecraft was actually on course? Believe it or not, it was straight on path only 3 percent of the time. That means it spent 97 percent of the journey, off course! That also means it spent the majority of the mission, correcting.
The same holds true for life balance success. Expect that you will be constantly adjusting and correcting. At times even going backwards and at other times you make big leaps forward toward your ideal balanced life.
The truth is, most people are afraid to make mistakes. It's no wonder, since many of us grew up being embarrassed or punished for our mistakes. Yet if you want to succeed, you must be willing to accept mistakes and inefficiencies as part of the journey.
You have probably heard of Babe Ruth. He was known as the home run king of baseball. What many people don't know, however, is that he was also struck out more than anyone else! Babe Ruth became a legend in baseball because he kept swinging. Even though he missed the ball a lot, he kept swinging and the home runs came. Mistakes are our natural way of learning. Set backs are the feedback we need for correction.
The key is to keep playing the life balance game. Always believe that you can achieve life balance. Accept that you will need to correct and adjust along the way and that you are closer to your ideal balanced life with each zig zag you take.

My wife asked ..... And then the fight started
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'
'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.'
'My God!' says my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'
And then the fight started...

I took my wife to a restaurant.
The waiter, for some reason, took my order first. "I'll have the T bone steak, medium rare, please."
He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?" Nah, she can order for herself."
And then the fight started...
Have some fun today :-) |
